I have removed the MSN messenger from my XP, and now my
computer is freezing at a frequent rate...at an average,
15 times a day...any suggestions?
Thanks

Greetings,

If you mean Windows Messenger, you can see "freezing" if you use Outlook, Outlook Express or
Norton Antivirus 2003.

To fix this, for Outlook (XP/2002), just open Outlook, click the Tools menu, then
Options, then the Other tab, and uncheck 'Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook'.
For Outlook Express, close Outlook Express, and run this .reg file:

For Norton Antivirus 2003, open Norton Antivirus (Right-click on the Norton Antivirus icon in
the System Tray/Notification Area (by the clock), choose 'Open Norton Antivirus'), click
Options, then Instant Messenger then uncheck MSN Instant Messenger and click OK.
