Should I Upgrade?

I usually upgrade my system this time of year (Bonus time at work). Here's
my system now:

Mobo - Asus P43 533 -P4 2gig
Geforce 3 Ti 200
512 Ram
52x CDRom
12x8x4 Burner
19" Flatscreen

I've been thinking of upgrading my Processor to a 3.06 but will I see much
improvement? Or the graphics card? Any idea's?

Maybe upgrade your video card (but with a flatscreen hummm) and overclock
your P4 at 2.8.

If you burn many CDs, you might like being able to do it much faster. But then
again, with the price of DVD burners coming down more as time passes...

What's your motivation for upgrading? If you just want to wordprocess at
lightspeed... then no. If you want to play badass games like Doom 3 et al,
edit video, etc... then yes.

Or you could always overclock the crap out of your system until something
fries, then replace that item... <evil grin>

Some of us occasionally come down with a serious ailment known as Upgrade Fever!
If you've never "suffered" from it, there is no way to understand. But if you
have, no explanation is necessary. ;-)

Only thing in there I see worth upgrading is the CD Burner maybe to a Lite
On 52/24/52x or maybe a 48/24/48/16x CD-RW/DVD-ROM. If you have any interest
in DVD writers I'd wait another generation before getting one of those.

Personally I think you could do with a faster burner, apart from that all is
okay.

Get more ram--168 pin sdram if your motherboard can support it. And if
you play games change you graphics card for a 128mg if your Geforce 3
Ti 200 is a 64mg version.

My 2c worth.

Thanks everybody for your replies. Yes I do suffer from upgrade fever...sad
but true. I'm going to side with most of you by overclocking for now and
upgrading my burner to the Lite
On 52/24/52x . I think I can wait another 6 months for a processor/ Graphic
card upgrade. Thanks again,

Ron
