You may want to supply your access version, since what constitutes
"securing" varies with version. '07 has some new model I think but I haven't
looked at it, whereas '03 uses "User Level Security" (ULS).
Some might consider adding a database level password as an act of
"securing", but I don't know.
So, what version? What do you consider 'securing'?
For 2003 and if you are going to use ULS, it doesn't really matter but if
you secure it BEFORE splitting it, you CANNOT use the splitter utility built
into Access (not that it's complicated to do without it, but if you DO use it
AFTER setting up ULS the backend won't be secure).
