That article, while suited for beginners, doesn't answer my question.

Oh I see!
I want to be able to at least map a drive to this computer from another
machine on my internal network. How can I do this with the firewall
enabled?

Hi,
The native firewall only blocks incoming traffic, it would not affect
your
ability to send outbound traffic.

Should I enable Windows XP's Personal Firewall behind a Microsoft
proxy
server? The proxy server is already set up as a firewall. I enabled
the
firewall options in the advanced TCP/IP options under the "Local Area
Connection" interface and I seem to have no problems accessing other
local
resources on my home network, printing to my network printer, going
out
to
the Internet, etc, after doing so. Thoughts??
