Shortcuts

Please help. I have a client which uses the Shortcut feature of Outlook
2003. On two of the PCs in the office, after you create the shortcuts to
public folders, etc. and then exit Outlook, the shortcuts disappear. Both
PCs have the latest service packs for Windows and Office. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end on this one. Thanks.

When you say shortcuts, do you mean the user is using the shortcut pane in
Outlook 2003 or created a desktop short (an Outlook *.XNK) to the public
folder?

If using the shortcut pane, then I would suspect the user doesn't have the
ability to create/modify the <profile name>.xml file normally located at
\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Thanks neo. Yes, they are using the shortcuts button in the navigation
pane. It allows them to create the shortcuts and the groups, but when they
exit outlook and go back in they aren't there. How do I fix this?

Does the user have the right to create/modify the <profile name>.xml file
located in the place I said? (I'm assuming that the site is not redirecting
folders or using mandatory profiles.)

If the permissions look right, then make sure the file is not marked
read-only.

If permissions and the file read-only attribute look right, rename the XML
file to <profile name>.backup while Outlook is not running.
