shortcut user and was wondering if anyone knew a shortcut to minimize
the current open window on the screen.

Alt+spacebar, n

That should work in any Windows program. Alt+spacebar opens the "system
menu", which you can also get by clicking the program's icon on the title
bar of the window, and n is the accelerator for Minimize.

If you want to minimize all open windows at one shot, use Windows key + d.
