Shortcut To Desktop?

Steve

I used to have a quick launch "desktop" icon on my
taskbar that I could hit and it would bring up my actual
desktop. It disappeared somehow. The closest I've
gotten to replacing it is a quick launch icon that brings
up the FILE "Desktop" with its contents. How can I
create a quick launch icon the SHOW my desktop? I want to
see my desktop when I hit it. If you know the answer I'd
REALLY appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi Steve,

Manual Edit:

Copy and paste the five lines below into Notepad.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Then save it as Show Desktop.scf and drag it to your quick launch bar.

Automated Edit:

Restore/Add Show Desktop to Quick Launch (Line 61)

In addition to Kelly's shortcut replacement, you might want to try
using the windows key d to show the desktop. That's the key (which I
once believed useless) between the control and alt buttons on the
left.
