When I click on the Icon I get the message "this file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the
Folder Options Control Panel". This just started happening.

Nothing unusual has been done except my printer and scanner will not open
either and I have reinstalled that software, and they still do not work.

Any help with either actually will be appreciated. Thanks

I followed the directions and then re-booted and problem is still there. I
cannot open anything that is a shortcut.

I was guessing with Internet Shortcuts. Regular shortcuts are .lnk files.

Try this one.

Hi, I have more or less the same problem:

If I click on an URL shortcut I get an Internet Explorer script error.

If I click on an FTP shortcut (which has worked flawlessly for months) the
Print dialog box opens.

I have downloaded and applied the registry fixes mentioned here, but they
did not work.

Any help will be appreciated.
