There is also a shockwave player from Macromedia site, this is a different
player from Macromedia.
Look at
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates , there is
all supported cases for Flash, Shockwave and Authorware players installers
and uninstallers. Check also there system requirements.
When the installation is OK, the inside test window get an interactive
animation and/or the version you are using.
If the problem still here, you may try uninstall your player version. By the
way, you can also upgrade your IE 5.5 to IE 6SP1... ;o)
