Hi I got this file that I want to open directly with Shockwave Flash. As in
those simple flash games type but it appears as an unknown file icon in My
Documents. I have to drag it to Internet Explorer in order for it to play.

Downloading Shockwave Flash didn't seem to work neither.

Please help.

Associate the file extension SWF to; "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

| Sorry, but that didn't help much. I couldn't understand that. Also what I
| mean was that I want the file to have an icon like this:
|
| So that when I double click on it, it opens a small window for the game to
| play. Not in Internet Explorer Window...

It doesn't work that way. The Plug-In in IE (or the plug-in in FireFox) is required to play
a SWF file. Thuis the viewer becomes the Internet Browser. SWF file are NOT self
executable therefore they need an application run them and that requires an Adobe/Macromedia
Flash Plug-In to be installed into the Internet Browser to work.
