When i try to open programs from discs or download new games to the computer
and open them i get a message saying shell.dl cannot be found. I am having
extreme problems with my computer at the moment with adware and viruses, can
anyone help me to fix this problem? And anyone with an extensive knowledge of
computers who is willing to help me fix my computer, please leave a reply!

Run it, then an "Upgrade" setup of XP.
(Remove SP2, if possible, before the setup, then reinstall sp2 later, if not
included on the setup disk)

You have run a spyware remover that still left some bad entries in your
registry. This should fix it right up.
