Sharing vs. Security tabs

Hi.

I want to give full access (read, create, edit, delete, etc.) to a certain
folder to a colleague of mine. When I set her up on the "Sharing" tab and
gave her "Full Control", she still didn't have full access. Only when I then
set her up on the "Security" tab was she able to fully access the directory.
What's going on? Why is there what seems to be a redundancy?

Share permissions are not the same as NTFS permissions - and the more
restrictive share permissions will trump whatever you set in NTFS, too.
This might be enlightening -
