Sharing violations in Excel

Freddy

Before anyone even says it, we are required to use excel and it must be shared!

We constantly get sharing violations when using our excel workbook. We have
obtained FULL CONTROL rights to the folder it resides in, but not the drive
it is on, we also all have FULL CONTROL of the file. We have tried closing
the windows search in the lower right corner, still get the errors. I
receive the fewest errors, probably because I built the file.

What can we do to fix this problem.

Hi,

Hi take a look at the following site and see if any of these apply in your
case. Be sure to expand the "Command I want isn't available" option.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Cheers,

Freddy,

You could build a database & a small ADO based app on the Excel side to
read/write from the database as oppossed to a shared Excel file which should
cut down on contention.
