Sharing PST file

I have 2 PCs trying to access emails of the same email account. So, I
configured it such that, I share a folder from one of the PCs, and place the
PST file in that folder. Then, Outlook 2003 will point to the same pst file
when I open it at any PC.

However, if I have already opened Outlook at one PC and try to open it at
another PC, it will prompt me this message, "Unable to open your default
e-mail folders. The file \\sharedfolder\mail.pst is in use and could not be
accessed. Close any application that is using this file and then try again.".

Is it not possible to access to the same pst file from 2 PCs at the same time?

Hi wrytat,

by default it is not possible in Outlook to share PST files. Only 3rd party
tools can share PST files.

Some websites with a list of 3rd party tools.

Messaging solution on Microsoft Office Marketplace:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/CE010719621033.aspx

On this site is an article on various ways to share Outlook data:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011477571033.aspx

A list of a list of third-party sharing tools is also on this site:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm

Most of them are based on a "synchronisation" and only a few of them can
realy share a PST file "live".
