Sharing properties not available

Loaded Win2000 onto a machine (latest bios, 512 MB Ram, Athalon
2400+,160 GB HD). I can get some files, folders to share (right
click in My Computer; choose sharing) When I click on others I
get the pulldown, choose share, menu closes and nothing.

I want to set up a home network and set up a series of shared
resources (drives, folders, files} but to no avail. Any ideas?

How did you load W2K? Was it an upgrade? Tried reinstalling file and printer
sharing?
