Sharing Problem

Pavan

Hi
I am using Excel 2007 to update a shared excel document which is created
using excel 2003. I get a error saying 'Sharing violation' and unable to save
and documents.

Thanks in advance

Can you upgrade the workbook to 2007 (xlsx) or does it have to remain
compatible? Sharing is a very bad idea at any time with excel, but I imagine
nearly impossible with these two very disparate versions

I have had exactly this trouble in Vista and it is very annoying. My problems
were cured when I realised my Bullguard Virus and Spyware checked all files
when they were opened even when I wasn't connected to the internet. A cure
resulted from clicking on "Scan only files with these extensions...." or
adding the extensions to "Scan exceptions". I suggest you check your
antivirus program.
