Sharing Problem in XP

I am using XP PRO SP2.

I want to change the share names of the two c drive root directories
on both of my networked machines.

When I right-click on c:\ on either machine, and select sharing and
security, it won't let me change the share name.

Why would that be?

Thanks

Create new shares, naming them as you wish. When done, delete the old
shares.

You have to create an additional new share name, because the default
share name, "C$" can't be renamed or deleted. It is hidden from network
browsing and usually reserved for network administration.
