Hello,

I am trying to share a printer connected to my Windows XP
Home Edition Service Pack 1 computer w/ a Windows 2000
Professional laptop.

I have disabled XP firewall and opened up my Norton
Security Firewall to allow the Windows 2000 laptop access
based on the IP address. I confirmed that I can ping
between machines.

I have shared the printer on the Windows XP machine and
given it a name.

From the Windows 2000 machine, I do a Start >> Run and
type \\192.1.1.1\MLPrinter1 ,but I get an error
message "The network path was not found".

I also try \\192.1.1.1\c$ ,but I get the same error
message.

Can someone please provide assistance on what I might be
missing?

Go to start/run/ \\computername press ok then look for everything like the
printers

Hey Justin,

I tried what you suggested, but I get the same error
message. "The network path was not found.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thanks
....
Marcus

Disable your firewall until this problem is resolved. It may even be
necessary to completely uninstall the firewall(s) on both PCs.
