There was a similar topic but I believe this issue is slightly
different.
The problem
The network has predominantly XP Professional on it, and one WIndows
2000.
I need to share out the printer on the Win 2K machine with one of the
XP machines.
The Win 2K machine can access all the shares on all the other machines
in the network except this one.
The XP machine can also see and access all the shares on the network
except the Win 2K machine.
The message I get on the XP machine is
"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was
typed incorrectly or the specified printer has lost its connection to
the server."
What I have done
1) Created a local user on Win 2K machine to match XP user account.
2) Disabled FIle and Print Sharing in Firewall settings on XP mavchine.
3) Deleted and recreated the shared printer.
4) Made multiple attempts to connect resulting in the message above.
I would appreciate if anyone can offer any insight as to why this might
be happening.
Thanks
