When I am on a folder and click on properties, and go to
sharing, the box to check to "make this folder private"
is de-highlighted, so I don't have a way to stop other
users from accessing the files in that folder. Any
ideas? Windows XP home edition.

Thanks

Brian;
In any case, you need to be using NTFS and not FAT32.
Double click My Computer, right click C drive, click Properties, look
under File System.
If you need to convert:

Follow the link:
Windows XP Home:

Password all accounts with Administrator access including the Safe
Mode Administrator.
Give all other users access only to Limited accounts.
You must tightly control all Administrators because Any Administrator
can do and undo anything any Administrator can do.
Take appropriate precautions to prevent losing the passwords.
