Sharing DVD-writer across a network

Does anyone have any tricks to sharing DVD or CD-writers on a Windows XP Pro machine across a nework? I have shared the drive and it is visible, but it is not accessible

If you're simply talking about reading files, this shouldn't present a
problem, unless you simply have authorization issues (i.e., lack
privileges). But if you need "write" access, such as burning a CD/DVD,
that's going to be a problem because I believe these tools require low-level
access to the device. The "network share" semantics do not provide such
access.
