Sharing BCM database

OD

When I click on share database and select I want to share my database from
the dialog box, I receive the error "There are no more endpoints available
from the endpoint mapper." If I click ok to continue, I can add users. When
I add users and click finish, it says, "error occurs, changes have not been
applied successfully" In the services Windows the service is for SQL
service is configured to user local system account I am using my windows
accout and I below to both the local admin group and domain admin group. I
am running this on a Windows server 2003 SP1 computer. The only application
running on the computer (other than Norton Antivirus) is Exchange Server
(used for test). I can blow the Exchange server away if I have to. The
Outllook is running SP2.

When I open the SQL Server Service Manager from the tray, the computer name
is not listed and therefore no services are listed for this computer. This
is weird.

Any ideas on this one PLEASE?

Thanks!

Ok. I wiped out the OS on this computer to start out fresh with a new
Windows XP Professional installation. Install Office and then the BCM. But
the MSDE installation is still behaving the same way. Will anyone be able to
help with this situation?

To resolve the error try the following:

Disabled Routing and Remote Access service
Enabled the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service

By default on Windows 2003, the Windows Firewall Service is Disabled.

Hope this helps.

I don't have the Windows Server 2003 computer anymore. I formated it and now
have Windows XP Professional SP2 and I still have the same problem with or
without firewall.

DO NOT START THE FIREWALL IF IT IS A SMALL BUSINESS SERVER 2003 MACHINE
