Outlook 2007 BCM SQL server problem

DNC

When I launch Outlook 2007 I am suddenly recieving the following message:
Cannot connect to the local SQL server service (the Business Contact Manager
database service) is not running. You can connect to a BCM that is stored on
a different computer. For more information on starting the SQL service click
help.

When I cllick help the create or select a BCM database screen appears with
my computer name and no database name. Then a message appears that it cannot
access the database on my computer.

If I go to the SQL Configuration manager the server has a red light and it's
state is stopped. If I tried to start it the error message says: The request
failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event
log or other applicatable error logs for details.

I have tried loging in as administrator and any other way that I can think
of. The database is definately on this computer. I am running Vista and think
this started right after a windows update.

Any help will be appreciated,

DNC

It's possible that the Windows Update changed some permissions that
prevent Sql from accessing some resource.

I think this has been discussed in tha past, so you could try
searching this newsgroup.

Or search the sql and windows event logs for details on why BCM's sql
service won't start.
