Problems sharing BCM in Outlook 2003

P

Philip.J.Parker

Here is my situation:

I have a fileserver with:

Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server
Version 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2 build 3790

Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6360) SP1 with Business Contact Manager Update
(Version 2.00.4013.00)

MSDE:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>osql -E -S FILE-SERVER
\microsoftsmlbiz,5
6183
1> select @@version
2> go

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.2039 (Intel X86)
May 3 2005 23:18:38
Cop
yright (c) 1988-2003 Microsoft Corporation
Desktop Engine on Windows NT
5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

And I have verified it is listening on the correct port:

TCP 0.0.0.0:56183 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

When I click on share database and select I want to share my database
from

the dialog box, I receive the error "There are no more endpoints
available

from the endpoint mapper." If I click ok to continue, I can add users.
When

I add users and click finish, it says, "error occurs, changes have not
been

applied successfully".

I have searched for this issue and found that some have started the
Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service and it
resolved (but seems odd since should probably not start that with
SBS).

When I try to start this service I get:

"Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing
(ICS) service on the Local Computer.
Error 170: The requested resource is in use."

I found that this may be due to Routing and remote access service
started. I tried stopping it but no joy.

Do you have a third party firewall on your machine?
