sharing and security tab gone

Hi,

I have an xp machine in a domain that when you right click on a file the
"sharing and security" option is gone. When you click properties the
security tab is gone. Simple file sharing is disabled, although that
hasn't been needed on the 24 other machines in this domain. Any ideas
how to get this back? It is getting the domain's gpo and is operating
normally in all other aspects.

Do you have a Group Policy configured to Remove the Security Tab?

Check these locations in the registry.

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

Name: NoSecuityTab
Type: Dword
Value: 0 (Unrestricted, Shows tab); 1 (Restricted, Removes tab)

The Sharing tab is not visible....
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click: Server service |
Set Startup type to: Automatic | Click Apply | Click the Start button |
When it has started, click OK
