when i used to go to a folder's properties and selected the "sharing" tab,
under "network sharing and security" it would say it was disabled for
security reasons, saying if i wanted to enable it to run the network setup
wizard. i did and enabled sharing. but now i'd like to disable it again as it
was in the start. how do i go about doing that?

I think you speak about "simple file sharing"

You can turn it off by:

1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. In the Advanced Settings section, click to clear the Use simple
file sharing (Recommended) check box.
5. Click OK.

If you speak about file- and printer sharing as a network connection
property, so uncheck "File and Printer Sharing" there.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply, but that's not exactly it. maybe it's not possible, but
what i want is "network sharing and security" to be disabled on the system
level, like it was initially by default, as i described. without unchecking
anything.
