Sharing a printer on a windows 2000 Workstation

The workstation in question REQUIRES a password for everyone to print.
XP, 2000 and 98 clients.
How come?
I have everyone allowed to print.
Yet the password issue comes up.

The Windows 2000 workstation must have an entry in the User list for each
user name (and password, if applicable) used to log onto the other computers
in the workgroup.
