Sharing a internet connection over home LAN

I have three computers connected by a single hub in a peer to peer LAN. One
machine has a cable modem connection to the internet sharing the connection
to the other machines. The problem is the other two machines can get to some
websites i.e.Google or AOL/IM but cannot get to others i.e. Microsoft or
eBay. Out of frustration I have shut off all firewalls. Is there a filter
somewhere I don't know about??? I have tried tracert and they seem to make
about 11 hops and the time out.

This sounds like an MTU issue. ICS can cause MTU problems.

Chuck, Thanks for the Info. I tried setting both clients MUT's to 1450 with
no change! Any other ideas?

If you read the articles linked in my article, you'll note that setting the MTU
is not a single step - you may have to make careful, repeated steps to find the
right value.

Does the problem occur when you access the websites by IP address, as well as by
name? Is the timeout consistent on this one hop?

Get IP addresses using All Nettools and DNS Stuff:
