Lan sharing not available

Small home network - mixed wireless and cat5 cable
Computers have XP Pro(SP1) and one new system with (SP2). All computers are
just peer-to-peer members of "workgroup" - just one work group for all
computers. Connect to internet through router and connections are fine - so
it is just "sharing" on LAN that is problem!

All of the old systems share on LAN, but can't get to new sytem with SP2.
The new system shows up in network neighborhood, but when you try to acess a
window pops up asking for User Name & Password? Used Network connection
wizzard, but did not make set up disc for other systems - is this problem?

New system has Norton anti virus and webroot spy sweeper pre installed and
activated, is this problem?

HELP, THANKS!

When the window pops up, what happens if you enter the user name and
password used to log onto the SP2 machine? If this works, then on the SP2
machine create user accounts which match the user names and passwords used
to log onto the other machines.

pretty basic but you might have overlooked norton's firewall settings.
on the norton main screen goto the firewall and configure, networking and
then click on the wizard and follow prompts. run into this a lot and
sometimes forget myself to fix that
