Sharing a folder and all its subfolders

When I share folder in my Windows XP Home laptop, I can access it from my
other Windows XP Pro laptop fine. But I cannot access the subfolders in that
shared folder. To do that, I have to share each subfolder.

Is there a way to share a folder with all the subfolders within it and all
sub-subfolders within subfolders an so on?

Thank you

Sharing a folder should automatically make all its subfolders
available. Un-share and re-share the main folder and see if that
solves the problem.

If that doesn't help, please reply to this message in the news group
(not by E-mail) with more information to help other people understand
the problem.

1. What folder are you sharing?

2. How are you trying to access the subfolders from the other
computer?

3. What exactly happens when you do it?

4. If there's an error message, what does it say?

Note that XP Home blocks networked access to the Windows and Program
Files folders and to individual users' folders in Documents and
Settings.

Hi Steve,

Thank you very much for answering my post. I did what you recommended
--unsharing and sharing it back-- but the problem persists.

My hard drive is partitioned and now I'm sharing the whole drive D (but I
had the same problem when I shared individual folders in drive D).

I'm trying to access this drive D through My Network places. I can access
some subfolders and some others I cannot, and this happens at any level. In
fact, for some subfolders I can go down all the way. Apparently, there are
no differences between the properties of the folders that I can access and
the ones I cannot.

The error message says:
\\computername\foldername\subfoldername\subsubfoldername is not accessible.
You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Access is denied.

Thanks again.
