Well, I was reading these questions and had to respond to this one. I tried
to get my parents two computers linked up via ethernet and then to dialup
through one computer. The only way I could see how to do this was to use an
external dialup modem. But, and this is a big BUT, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT!
The reason why, and it became very evident to my parents, was that you end
up splitting the 20kbs-53kbs connection between the two computers. Thats
right, you wont get the full speed of the connection on one computer. It
tends to split it up between the two computers, and as such, you will
actually see more like a 10kbs-26kbs connection on a given computer.
That said, do this. Put both computers on the same line (or pay for a
second line), and setup both for dialup to your favorite provider. When one
is done with the internet, disconnect and then the second can then dialup. I
know this is not what you were looking for, for an answer, but honestly, its
the simplest, and easiest solution!
Hope this helps..
