Shareing files peer to peer

Hello,

Can someone help me. I have a small peer to peer setup, and I haven't seem
to share files from one computer to another. We have a domain. When I try
to get into another computer it comes up with looking for a password. But I
haven't set up a password. How do I get around this?

Which do you have - a Server Domain or a peer-to-peer network with no
computer running a server version of Windows and therefore no domain?

What versions of Windows are your computer workstations using? If
they are Windows XP then please include the edition (Home, Pro, Media
Center, Tablet).

Good luck

Hello,

Well we are running a domain. You have to have a domain name entered to see
other computer. But when we try to get in to the computer it comes up with
this user name and password. Which there isn't a password for each computer
set up. We are running XP pro. It was a upgrade from 2000, which was a
upgrade from 98se. Each other is under the Admin., so there is full conotrol.

Thank you in advance.

It is *impossible* to have a domain set up unless you have a computer
running a server version of Windows (NT Server, Server 2000, Server
2003) on the network.

You are confusing Domain name with Workgroup name.

Open Control Panel - System and go to the Computer Name tab. What you
are calling the Domain name should show up there as the Workgroup
name.

To be doubly certain click on the Change button at the bottom of the
Window. What does the "Member of" information say?
