Shared/Personal Calendar Combo

We use Outlook 2000 and Small Buisness Server 2000 have a
shared calendar but our employees would like to be able to
use the shared calendar and also input private
appointments (that wouldn't be visible to others). How do
we go about making this happen ??
 
This may sound like a dumb question, but why don't they put the private
appointments in their mailbox Calendar folder, not the shared calendar.
