shared internet connection

Hi,
we have a network that shares the internet connection.
its a broadband connection, it was working fine, with the modem connected to
the XP commuter and the 98 PC connected to the internet through this.
that computer has now died and we have a new XP in its place. I can not get
the internet to work.
the computer with the modem attached is 192.168.0.1

any suggestions

1. Turn On Both PC and the Internet.
2. Open My Network Places on the newer computer.
3. Click on "Setup a home or small office network" task in the left side pane.
4. In the Wizard, choose "this computer connect through Internet from
residential gateway or network".
5. Give a unique computer name but same workgroup.
6. Let the wizard finish the settings.

Let the wizard define a new IP address of same range to your newer PC.
