We have a second domain controller with windows 2000
server installed. The shared folders on this machine are
accessible from windows xp machines but not from windows
95 and 98 machines. Can anybody help me on how to fix
this problem?

Make sure that the Win95/98 users log on to their PCs with
an account/password that is identical to an account/password
on your domain controller. If they don't then they will be treated
as strangers, and kept out of shared areas!

This is not the case. I just can't get access to the
shared files from a 95 or 98 machine. I am able to ping
the server from the 95 and 98 machines and I can see it
in the network neighbourhood but as soon as I click on it
it starts thinking and says after a while that it can't
find the computername. Could it have something to do with
a hot fix that disables 95 and 98 users to access shared
folders?
