shared fax

Travis

I have set up shared fax and everything was working fine
for awhile. Now no one is able to send faxes. I have
found the article below. Okay, so it looks like I need
to install service pack 4 (I'm on 3). My question is,
what is involved in installing a service pack? Do I need
to stop any services or have everyone off the network?
Has anyone else had this problem solved by doing this?
TIA

The Fax Service May Stop Sending Faxes
View products that this article applies to.
SYMPTOMS
The Fax service may stop sending faxes. When this occurs,
you must stop and restart the Fax service. This problem
may occur if you queue fax jobs on the Windows 2000 Fax
service. The service may stop sending faxes on the fax
modem after the status changes from "dialing"
to "sending."

What is the OS for your shared Fax. Is it SBS2000? Windows 2000 Pro and
Server don't support sharing of Fax.

Thanks,
Anand
