Shared Contacts

I have shared my contacts folder with other members of our sales group. Yet
random contacts do not appear when someone else looks for them. Properties on
the cards indicate they are part of the shared folder but they do not appear
for any other user

This is a shot in the dark but are they marked Private?

Another shot -

do they have email addresses as in some pop up windows in Outlook, only
Contacts with valid email addresses will be shown.
