I have created a Custom Toolbar with custom Auto Text. Now I want to let
other users use the toolbar and auto text on their machines. How do I get it
to them?

Thank you for this info, but I am having some trouble making it work. Do you
know of any simpler procedure?

Sorry. I don't know of any other correct way to accomplish this. What kind
of trouble are you having?

I am making a tool bar where users can select autotext to insert in their
docs. Then I want to use the toolbar and autotext on other machines. I
actually got it to work once on another machine by copying the *.dot file
into their ...Microsoft\word\startup folder. I then went back and modified my
toolbar and autotext and saved it to my .....\microsoft\word\startup, copied
the *.dot to the other users startup, but it's not showing up there.

It's not a good idea to re-do a user's normal.dot as it will then do away
with any customizations that they have made. If you follow the instructions
in the article that I referenced, you should have no problems.

In addition to the toolbar itself, you will also need to copy the AutoText
entries.

I must be missing some step. Here's what I'm doing.:
- I capture the auto text and create the toolbar
- Save the file as "Sales.dot" in the ....\Microsoft\Word\Startup folder
- Copy the sales.dot file to the ....\Microsoft\Word\Startup folder on
another machine

What am I missing?

You need to be very careful about which file holds your AutoText. The
default holder is normal.dot. You can use the Organizer to move it to your
Template but you'll need to recreate your toolbar. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.

When you created the AutoText entries, did you specify Sales.dot for "Look
in"? If not, the AT entries are saved in Normal.dot rather than your
template.
