Share a Printer connected to Windows 2000

I have a Lexmark Z33 USB connected printer which is connected to a Windows
2000 PC and I have shared this Printer as LexmarkZ33. When I try to connect
to the Printer from a Windows XP PC, it asks for a Username and Password. The
Windows 2000 PC is logged in with a Username of Administrator with no
password. I have tried that and get a meesage that Windows cannot find the
printer. Can someone direct me to the instructions for sharing a Printer
connected to a Windows 2000 PC and then connecting it to a Windows XP PC.
Thanks....

Sorry, I need instructions on how to create a User on the Windows 2000 PC.
How do I do this? Thanks...

Thanks Richard; Okay I created the new User with the same Username and
Password that is used on the Windows Xp PC and gave the permissions as
Administrator. Same problem. When you try to add the shared printer, it still
asks for Username and Password which doesn't work. Anymore more suggestions
please.

Hi Richard; The Windows 2000 PC doesn't have any Firewall. The Windows XP PC
have the Windows Security Center and under the Windows Firewall Exceptions
"File and Printer Sharing" is checked. This means that File and Printer
Sharing is NOT blocking incoming connections so I should be able to connect
to the shared Printer connected to the Windows 2000 PC. This is my
understanding. What do I check for next. Thanks....

Humm, You cannot log on with "no password". You may log on with a Blank
password. If it is asking for a user and password then I suspect that
the "Username and password" are not the same, and the one you are
providing isn't either. Has the "user" you created on the Windows 2000
system ever been logged on? NT based boxes will on occasion get cranky
about "blank" passwords, so use real ones, and remember CASE matters.

I have a Lexmark Z33 USB connected printer which is connected to a
Windows
2000 PC and I have shared this Printer as LexmarkZ33. When I try
to
connect
to the Printer from a Windows XP PC, it asks for a Username and
Password.
The
Windows 2000 PC is logged in with a Username of Administrator
with
no
password. I have tried that and get a meesage that Windows cannot
find
the
printer. Can someone direct me to the instructions for sharing a
Printer
connected to a Windows 2000 PC and then connecting it to a
Windows
XP
PC.
Thanks....

The only other suggestion I can come up with at this point is to delete and
re-create the printer share.

Hi Bob I; The Windows 2000 PC is logged on with the Username of
"Administrator" and the Password is left "Blank" and then you click on "OK".
I also have created a new Username on the Windows 2000 PC with administrator
permissions of "liza" with a password that matches the the Windows XP PC. I
have used the "liza" Username to log onto the Windows 2000 PC which works
just fine. The normal process is to logon with "Administrator" and blank for
password on the Windows 2000 PC. When I try to connect to the shared printer
connected to the Windows 2000 PC, this is when I get the pop-up asking for a
Username and Password and I have tried both "liza" with the correct password
and "Administrator" with "blank" as a password. Both will NOT connect to the
shared printer from the Windows XP PC. Very confusing as I believe I am doing
everything that has been suggested. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks...

The part that bothers me is that with the Same Username, password and
Workgroup on both PC's, is that It shouldn't be asking for a
username/password! Double check permissions on that share. As backup
