it's a almost new computer, I think its an important tool like this should
work.

It's a hot 30 degrees celsius here, and humid. Is there a reason for
running sfc?

Store in
Winnipeg where I purchased it
don't know if I been screwed, this computer (LapTop) does Not
have a
Recovery partition, it has 1 disc C and 1 partition 232 GB
(my Emachine Home Basic Desktop did have a Recovery Partition
on D)
the Store made me set, 2 Discs after I complained and Acer sent

already been at the store they are slick and have few answers ,
don't think
I'll get far at the store

any help with getting the sfc/scannow is much appreciated

I'd consider using factory restore as the computer is new and better to get
everything right now than in a years time. If SFC isn't working then other
features may also not be working. There's the Windows Resource Protection
error (something about reparse points).

It can't hurt so run chkdsk as reparse points are part of the disk
structure.

hello, thanks
I ran the Memory Diagnostic Tool in its 3 option,
basic and standard only took 15-20 min, went only to 99 %
then restarted but it displayed no information.
the 3rd option: Extended, ran for over 4 hrs, as it was up to 94 %
complete, then I was distracted.
don't know if it went up to 100%,
but I did see when it Restarted and NO information was displayed.
Surely this info is logged somewhere, any idea where?
I ran the sfc/scannow again no change.
have read about the reparse points don't understand it yet
I just did a factory restore a few weeks ago using the System Recovery Disks
fritz
----------------------------------------
I'd consider using factory restore as the computer is new and better to
get everything right now than in a years time. If SFC isn't working then
other
features may also not be working. There's the Windows Resource Protection
error (something about reparse points).

It can't hurt so run chkdsk as reparse points are part of the disk
structure.

it's a almost new computer, I think its an important tool like this
should work.

It's a hot 30 degrees celsius here, and humid. Is there a reason for
running sfc?

hello
thanks for your effort, guess this is the end of this
would it help if I removed the side bar ? don't use it much, but is
nice to have, so I can see how cold it is, its - 30 c. here,
the problem started in that gap
the CBS.persist logs start 2008-02-05 to 2008-08-19
then nothing , till 2009-12-29 to 2009-12-30

wow
in the command prompt after I hit enter it showed NOTHING
then I right clicked on my line in Command Prompt
then, select all, come here and paste, and it shows here, didn't
know this,
but you already seen this , so it changes nothing

now it shows Errors, but I have no clue what to do with them.
hope you don't object for having pasted the logs here.

I found in Event Viewer on Audit Failure Event ID 5038
Code Integrity determined that the Image of a file is not valid.
The file could be corrupt due to unauthorized modification or the
invalid hash could indicate a potential disk device error.

If the Acer Arcade may be the problem I will remove it quickly
may be I should have the Disk checked

happy new year
LapTop or Notebook
Vista Home Premium - SP 2 - 32 bit
Acer Aspire 5535 - AMD Athlon X2 Dual QL -62 2.00 GHz -
3.00 GB

Problem: sfc/scannow stops at 76 %, gives no Info just
that it can not
perform the requested operation

it started when I Restored the System to Factory Install with
the Discs ( 2
Discs) sent to me by Acer by mail

Restore or recovery disks ? Is there not a hidden partition to
factory
install ?

Thanks for the reply
sorry Recovery Disks
recover to factory install, all and everything is Reloaded
(including all Oberon Media that all most fills half the
computer, I don't get to chose what programs to reinstall)
hidden partition ?
all I see in disk management: Acer (C:) Simple Basic NFTS
Healthy Primary Partition, capacity 232.88 GB free 188.42 used
44.4 GB
Disk 0 Basic 232.88 GB Online
and CD_ROM 0 DVD (D:)
same under computer
Where Would I look for hidden partition?

SP 1 is already on the Discs, all Updates installed
successfully, including
SP 2

associated with the
