SFC /SCANNOW PROBLEM.

SFC asks for a file from my windows xp home cd.

The cd is one of the usual operating system cd's p;provided by the
manufacturer (Gateway).

SFC says it cannot find the file on the CD.

I 386 is on the CD with all of the files.

How do I tell SFC where to look to find the windows XP files?

If you have installed SP2 and the CD is SP1 or RTM, it will tell you wrong
disk or file not found.
