sfc /scannow

Trying to repair MIE 6 with sfc /scannow. Unfortunately its calling for the
CD which is at home 1300 mls away. The CD is copied onto the HD. Is there a
way of running sfc/ scnnow using the XP files on the HD?

Yes there is, but damned if I can find the article for you right now -
sorry, I think you have to hack the registry and change the install
path to C:\i386.
