sfc /scannow and SP2 ?

hi All,

Does anyone know if sfc /scannow be used with XP SP2 ? I use it regularly
with my pc with XP SP1,but is it ok to be used with SP2? I read some
instructions about it somewhere on microsoft.com which ommitted saying it
could be used for SP2.
And i did it once on my pc with SP2,and it messed up the os somehow and i
had to do a restore operation on it.
If it cant be used with SP2,then what can you do instead,to make sure the
windows files are in their original condition. As that operation really seems
to work well when i am getting program errors on my pc with SP1

?

Gratefully Peter

In order to do it, you must have a Windows XP disk with SP2 slipstreamed
into it.

Untrue. Once installed, the installation source is saved as a
servicepacksourcepath string in the registry. When running sfc, the system
will look to this path for any files that are in need of replacement that
were updated by the service pack.
