severe flash9d.ocx error help please

This is driving me nuts and I need HELP
i have win xp and a compaq media center and internet explorer 7.0
many many many times ill have a few webpages open tabs or windows and my
internet explorer will crash wth a flash9d.ocx error ive uninstalled flash
even deleted keys from registry and reinstalled updated everything etc but
still no matter what this happens and its driving me mad specially when im
working on something and lose everything please help

Are you visiting any websites that have flash component. If yes then you need
to get the latest update from macromedia.

To remove any reference to the flash component, download autoruns from
sysinternals.com. After uninstalling Flash from add remove program, close all
IE and explorer windows that are open. From the internet explorer tab and
explorer tab in autoruns remove any reference to flas or macromedia
components after noting down the path to the files.

After removing the reference, rename/delete the flash components from the
system that we noted in the previous step.

reboot the system and check if the issue still persists.
