Joe

A friend of mine, who is using Windows 98 SE has sent me a screen shot of a
file she has found in her system and asks if it should be there.

The description is SETUPX.exe Properties, File Version 4.71.1015.0 Win32
Cabinet Self Extractor and under Value is Microsoft Windows NT

Information would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hey Joe, at first it reminded me of an environment tweaker used on 98/ME,
but it could also be related to the semisoft virus family. You didn't
provide much info on where the file was located and if any other problems
are present on the system.

Jeff

Setupx.exe is part of an installation packaged with the VB packaging app. It
is fine.

Thanks Jeff and Mike for the feedback.

Jeff, the file was is the system folder, and yes there has been other
problems but I don't think they are related to that particular file, what
happened was that she was looking for something else and found that.

I have advised her accordingly.
