Setup Error msgs when loading w2000

I'm loading a w2000 on a older box that ran
nt4.0...formatted the drive using the recovery console to
wipe it clean, now I'm experiencing numerous setup error
msgs when I try and load windows. Some examples of the msgs
are, buslink file corrupted, I386file missing, cd20xrnt.sys
caused an unexpected error...not the same msg every time.
This is a new store bought version of w2000. Did I format
the drive incorrectly?? Do you think the problem is with
CD drive itself??? Thank You.

it could be a defective cdrom
