After extensive wrangling with BIOS settings, including
disabling my hard drive to get the system to boot up from
my new Windows XP Home Edition CD, I get the subject error
every time. I have completely repartitioned and
reformated the hard drive and still get the error. This
is the first file among many that will not copy, most
starting with "w" (I quit writing them down at 3 pages).
It seems odd to me that the whole set-up program and
related files read fine off the CD into memory, but I
can't get any files to copy to a newly formated 30 GB hard
drive partition. I had Windows ME with FAT32 partition
before, but have completely repartitioned/formated under
NTFS. Anyone know what gives?
