Settings for individual user

when I boot up the computer and "sign on" I get a message
that says settings error with local drive. the desktop
that appears before me does not have any of the icons of
software that has been added.....instead, it shows the
original basic icons when the machine was new.

Hi Dan,

Move the icons from the local user folder to the "all users" folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
