Setting up WinXP computer to access win2000 server domain

Steve

I am trying to set up some computers to access my
windows2000 server domain. Have always had win98
computers logging on no trouble. eg. setup with a
username and password on the win98 computer the same as
the username and password setup for that user on the
win2000 server domain. BUT with the winXP computers it is
all to complicated for me. I can get them to see and use
files by setting them up accessing a workgroup ... not a
domain. And I have one of the XP computers which seems to
disconnect itself from the server by itself. What is the
best practice for setting up these XP computers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am struggling
with this issue.
Thanks, Stephen

if it is xp home you are wasting your time trying to get it to perform in a domain, use peer nto peer with the wizard, if pro then right click on my computer go to properties, computer name tab, and network id

follow alon
