Connecting XP computer to Win2000 Server LAN

D

Dave

We have a small LAN at work that runs under Win2000 Server
and until now we have only had Win98 client machines.
Recently, we purchased a few XP machines but they can't
see the server or get internet access even though the
connection is there since I see bytes being sent and
received through the connection. On the Win98 machines I
only had to specify the right workgroup and everything
worked. How do I set up the XP computers to see the
Win2000 server?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi

Please make sure the XP system are in same workgroup as the 2000 server and check the IP address and the subnet mask. Note: Subnet mask should be same if it a single network

Hope this help

You have a win2k server ... do you have a domain? If so
join them to the domain, ensure you dhcp scope options are
correct ...
